Idaho Real Estate License Requirements

Governing Body: Idaho Real Estate Commission  (www.irec.idaho.gov)

Salesperson Licensing Requirements:

  • 18+ Years of age
  • US Citizen, US National, or an alien authorized to work in the US
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Successful completion of salesperson prelicensing course Modules 1 and 2 (90 hours)
  • Pass Idaho real estate salesperson licensing exam

Application fee – $160.00

Additional Broker Licensing Requirements:

The following is a list of additional requirements for obtaining your Broker’s real estate license in the state of Idaho.

  • Minimum of 2 (of the last 5) years actively holding an Idaho salesperson license, with active experience
  • Successful completion of broker’s prelicense course (90 hours) plus 2 electives
  • Pass Idaho real estate broker licensing exam
