Louisiana Real Estate License Requirements

Governing Body: Louisiana Real Estate Commission (www.lrec.state.la.us/)
Salesperson Licensing Requirements:
- 18+ Years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of approved salesperson licensing courses (90 hours)
- Pass Louisiana real estate salesperson licensing exam
- Pass criminal background check
- Provide proof of Errors and Omissions insurance
- Successful completion of 45 hours of post-licensing education within 180 days of initial licensing

Additional Broker Licensing Requirements:
The following is a list of additional requirements for obtaining your Broker’s real estate license in the state of Louisiana.
- Must have held a real estate salesperson license for atleast 4 years.
- Successful completion of approved broker licensing courses (150 hours)
- Pass Louisiana real estate broker licensing exam
Application fee: $120.00
