Kansas Real Estate License Requirements

Governing Body: Kansas Real Estate Commission (www.kansas.gov/krec/)
Salesperson Licensing Requirements:
- 18+ Years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of 30 hour Principles of Real Estate Course
- Pass Kansas real estate salesperson licensing exam
- Fingerprints and background check
- Successful completion of 30 hour Kansas Practice Course
- Application submitted within 6 months of exam
Exam fee – $75.00
Additional Broker Licensing Requirements:
The following is a list of additional requirements for obtaining your Broker’s real estate license in the state of Kansas.
- Prior experience as a real estate salesperson, to be examined on a case by case basis, atleast 2 years (of the last 5) of active experience
- Successful completion of broker’s prelicense course (24 hours)
- Pass Kansas real estate broker licensing exam
Exam fee – $75.00
Reciprocal License: No reciprocity in Kansas
