Iowa Real Estate License Requirements

Salesperson Licensing Requirements:
- 18+ Years of age
- Successful completion of 60 hour salesperson prelicensing course plus 3 additional courses
- Pass Iowa real estate salesperson licensing exam
- Pass criminal history and background check
- Obtain Errors and Omissions insurance
Exam fee – $90.00
Application fee – $125.00
Additional Broker Licensing Requirements:
The following is a list of additional requirements for obtaining your Broker’s real estate license in the state of Iowa.
- Minimum of 2 years actively holding an Iowa salesperson license, with active experience
- Successful completion of broker’s prelicense course (72 hours)
- Pass Iowa real estate broker licensing exam
Exam fee – $90.00
Application fee: $170.00
Reciprocal License: AL, AR, GA, LA, MA, MN, MS, NC, ND, TN, WV
