Arizona Real Estate License Requirements

This page contains information for obtaining your Arizona real estate license. Please take a moment to review the requirements as provided by the state of Arizona and enforced by the Arizona Department of Real Estate.

Governing Body: Arizona Department of Real Estate (http://www.re.state.az.us/)

Salesperson Licensing Requirements:

  • 18+ Years of age
  • Successful completion of 90 hours of approved classroom Real Estate Salesperson pre-licensing education at an approved Arizona real estate school
  • Pass the real estate salesperson licensing examination
  • Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Completion of Disciplinary Actions Disclosure Form (LI-214/244)
  • Must not have been convicted of a felony, or convicted of a misdemeanor offense, such as (but not limited to) theft, forgery, extortion, conspiracy to defraud, violence against another person, or crimes of moral turpitude.
  • Completion of Disclosure Document Checklist (LI-400)
  • Successful completion of 6 hour Contract Writing Class
  • Proof of legal presence
  • Completion of Salesperson License application within 1 year from the date of passing the state examination, or the state exam must be retaken and passing score reports presented.

Exam fee – $75.00

Application fee – $120.00

 

Additional Broker Licensing Requirements:

The following is a list of additional requirements for obtaining your Broker’s real estate license in the state of Arizona.

  • Completion of Broker Candidate Experience Verification (Form LI-226) – Broker applicants must demonstrate three (3) years of actual experience as a licensed real estate agent or broker within the past five (5) years, immediately preceding license application.
  • Attendance at a Broker Management Clinic
  • Broker License application must occur within 1 year from the date of passing the state examination or the state exam must be retaken and passing score reports presented

Application fee: $245.00

Reciprocal Requirements:  Arizona is a non-reciprocal licensing state.
